Autodesk Games Super User Tour: Seminar in Mumbai tomorrow

The Mumbai leg of the Autodesk Games Super User Tour happens tomorrow. Here is what the invitation has to say:

“Autodesk is pleased to present game animators representing world-class developers Epic Games and Flagship Studios at seminars throughout Asia-Pacific. Epic Games, developers of legendary titles such as Gears of War and Unreal Tournament use Autodesk tools as key components of their next-generation character pipeline. Flagship Studios uses Autodesk 3ds Max to develop tailored solutions for their latest title, Hellgate: London.”

The two game animators who will make presentations at the event are Chris Wells from Epic Games and David Glenn from Flagship Studios. Besides Mumbai, they have also toured Seoul (5th Nov), Beijing (6th Nov), Shanghai (8th Nov) and Taipei (9th Nov). Here’s a brief introduction to the presenters as given in the invitation:

Chris Wells, Character Artist from Epic Games has spent almost ten years as an animator in game development. He has spent the last two years at Epic Games working on Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 3. Wells will present Epic’s real world process for next-gen character creation and other time saving production techniques used at the studio.”

David Glenn is an Art Director with Flagship Studios. Glenn worked as Chief Background Artist on Diablo II prior to joining many of his colleagues from Blizzard North in forming Flagship Studios. Having worked extensively with 3ds Max at Blizzard, standardizing on a similar pipeline helped accelerate Flagship Studios in the development of their latest title, Hellgate: London. Shenk will present Flagship’s unique approach to building a randomized 3D world using both customized and built-in 3ds Max tools and how assets are processed and integrated into the Hellgate: London engine.”

Seating is limited and I am guessing that by now it is probably booked to capacity. You can still try and register by contacting Kiran Sharma at +91-22-66952000 or sending an email to

The seminar will be held at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Off Western Express Highway, Santa Cruz East, Mumbai 400055 from 2 pm to 5 pm.
