*EXCLUSIVE* The making of TZP Clay Animation

Remember, you saw it here first!! :)

Stop motion animation veteran, Dhimant Vyas and Aamir Khan Productions have generously shared photos of the making of the Clay Animation sequences from Taare Zameen Par.

Also read the exclusive interview with Dhimant Vyas where he explains the technique he used to animate these sequences and chats with us about his experience of animating for a Bollywood film for the first time ever. Taare Zameen Par or ‘TZP’ has made Bollywood history by being the first Hindi film to extensively use clay animation in the movie.

When the movie started, I gloated about how it looked similar to the TLDF claymations… little did I know that Dhimant kaka was involved in this beautiful work of art too… till I saw the credits :-D.

A pleasant and warm surprise. Makes us all at TIS proud of you and your talent!

Frankly speaking, I didn’t notice the credits as Archana did, neither did I have the slightest of realization that it could have been done by someone whom I’d seen (though not talked to) quite often at work. Man, am I proud of being an ex-Tisian.
    Great work Dhimant!!

    Hi Kaka,

We worked in the same company (TIS) for three years. During this period, we might have talked with each other two or three times, but we ‘met’ quite often. For a few months, I sat next to your cubicle. You were so anassuming, simple and silent. I still remember your induction training. I saw Taare Jameen Par recently. It was a beautiful movie. And one of the most enjoyable moments in the film were those lovely animation sequences. The quality and the finesse immediately struck the audience. I’ve no hesitation to say that the animation in the movie is “the best” in the Indian Film Industry ever. So proud to have worked with you. But we are expecting much much more.
